Aaron Glenn and Jets Have Their Work Cut Out for Them
The New York Jets had a tough season in 2025-26 and rounded out the season with a 3-14 record in head coach Aaron Glenn’s first year with the franchise.
Glenn isn’t the kind of coach to be happy with a mediocre record, let alone a 3-14 one, so he’s been making moves in the offseason to try to make 2026 a comeback year.
But, he still has lots of work to do. In ESPN’s post-draft power rankings, the publication ranks the Jets a low No. 31 on their tally, only behind the Dolphins.
“The Jets used the draft, free agency and a trade to improve one of their weakest position groups, edge rusher,” Rich Cimini states. “The headliner is No. 2 draft pick David Bailey, who replaces Jermaine Johnson II (traded to the Titans). The Jets also signed Joseph Ossai (Bengals) and Kingsley Enagbare (Packers) in March.”
He adds: “The edge rushers should also benefit from an improved interior defensive line, which added David Onyemata (Saints) and T’Vondre Sweat. The Jets’ meager 2025 sack total (26, which ranked 31st) should improve next season.”

Why It Matters: Aaron Glenn and the New York Jets
The New York Jets do have a bright light in their beefed-up edge room, and that means a lot for this team. It was one of their weaker points last season, and it’s improved immensely. I don’t think they’re worthy of the low No. 31 ranking, but on the other hand, if not them, what other team would fall that low to replace them?

Going into the 2026-27 season, the Jets’ problems are still there in a real way, and that’s concerning. But, Glenn has a way of figuring things out, so don’t count him out, and the Jets could surprise everybody.
