Mets' Francisco Lindor Issues Statement on Off-Field News

New York Mets star shortstop Francisco Lindor is one of the biggest stars in all of Major League Baseball. The five-time All-Star has had a phenomenal career and is regarded as a top player in the majors at his position, and he is playing for a team in "The Big Apple," which brings more attention to him every day.

Lindor is currently recovering from a left calf strain, which he sustained on April 22. With this injury, manager Carlos Mendoza said there is still no timetable for Lindor's return to the Mets' lineup.

On Thursday, Lindor provided an off-field update on his social media.

The 32-year-old shortstop posted his new Topps Chrome trading card on his Instagram story and issued a statement along with the card.

"MY CARD JUST DROPPED," Lindor said.

His new card, which is part of Topps' latest MLB drop, including other stars like Los Angeles Angels superstar outfielder Mike Trout, features Lindor swinging while wearing the Mets' black uniform. The background of the card is a multitude of colors, including orange, blue, black, white and gold.

Lindor's new card is one that collectors will no doubt be searching for in the latest drop.

Before he got injured this season, Lindor was having an underwhelming start to the year at the plate. Through 24 games, he put up a slash line of .226/.314/.355 with an OPS of .669, totaling just two home runs, five RBIs and two stolen bases.

While Mets fans are hoping to see their star shortstop get back on the field, they can now search for his new trading card as well.
