Indiana Football Predicted to Receive Commitment From Nation's No. 1 WR
The Indiana Hoosiers have gotten off to a solid start in the 2027 recruiting cycle. Curt Cignetti and his staff have landed four commitments, with the group ranking 11th in the Big Ten and 34th in the nation, according to Rivals.
However, they've yet to make a big splash, as four-star cornerback Monsanna Torbert is their highest-rated addition. He may not be for long, though, as the Hoosiers target wide receiver Monshun Sales out of Indianapolis, Indiana.
The in-state recruit has continued to show interest in the reigning national champions. On Thursday, Rivals' Steve Wiltfong and Greg Smith both logged expert predictions for Sales to commit to the Hoosiers.
This would be a major addition for Indiana. At 6-foot-5, 201 pounds, Sales is a five-star recruit, the No. 1 wide receiver, the No. 1 player in Indiana and the No. 7 player in the nation, per Rivals Industry Rankings.
He is coming off an impressive junior season at Lawrence North High School. In 10 games, the pass catcher recorded 37 receptions for 794 yards and nine touchdowns, all of which are career highs.
Sales has made his way to Bloomington for five unofficial visits and had an official visit with Indiana on April 24. While the predictions lean the Hoosiers' way, they're still in a high-powered battle.
The wide receiver also has OVs scheduled with the Alabama Crimson Tide (May 29), Texas Longhorns (June 5), Ohio State Buckeyes (June 12) and Miami Hurricanes (June 19). With things beginning to heat up, the Hoosiers face pressure to stay out ahead.
