Adna newcomer Myers wins MVP award
May 20-Charlie Myers was pitching for the Pirates' junior varsity team last season. One year later, she earned the C2BL's top honor.
The southpaw was Adna's top pitcher all season, was a key factor in the middle of its lineup and helped the program claim another regular season league title. All that led to Myers being named the league's MVP, as voted by the coaches.
She heads into the Class 2B state tournament with an earned run average just under 4.00 and 124 strikeouts while at the plate, is hitting .412 with 16 of her 28 hits gone for extra bases and 20 RBIs. Napavine head coach Josh Fay was named the league's Coach of the Year. The Pirates and Tigers each had four first team players while Toledo had three. Here are the rest of the all-league teams:
