UFC Fighter Josh Hokit Facing Backlash For 'Disgraceful' Michelle Obama Comment

Despite winning his match at the UFC Freedom 250 event, Josh Hokit made headlines for the wrong reason on Sunday night.

After defeating Derrick Lewis on the South Lawn of the White House, Hokit spoke to UFC analyst Joe Rogan about his heavyweight victory. Before saying farewell to the crowd in the nation's capital, Hokit decided to make a shocking statement about Michelle Obama.

"Lastly, Michelle Obama is a man," Hokit yelled. "Am I right, America?"

Instead of responding to those remarks, Rogan simply said: "Ladies and gentlemen, Josh Hokit."

As you'd imagine, Americans weren't thrilled with Hokit's behavior at the White House. They found his antics to be repulsive and downright embarrassing.

"MAGA will be remembered as the most embarrassing political phenomenon ever to stain the history of America, just a gutter movement that elevated the worst, dumbest, most vile among us," Pedro L. Gonzalez wrote on X.

"Most embarrassing moment for an American pro sports league in quite some time. Don't forget it just because the people involved will never understand it," one person said.

"Disgusting….hope she sues everyone involved including this slob," another person wrote.

"This is a national disgrace," former NFL player Jumbo Elliott commented.

Dana White breaks his silence.

UFC president Dana White spoke to TIME about Hokit's post-match remarks. As you'd imagine, he wasn't thrilled about it.

"I understand that the Obama's are public figures but I'm completely against saying nasty and false things about people's families," White said. "Everyone knows my position on free speech but I hate that kind of nonsense."

The Obama family has not addressed Hokit's remarks. We'll see if that changes later this week.
