SPSCC hires volleyball coach for inaugural season
Melanie Miller will be South Puget Sound Community College’s first volleyball coach.
She will pilot the program’s inaugural season, which begins this fall. Miller has more than 17 years of experience as a player, and more than six years experience coaching — including spending the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington.
“She knows what it takes to compete, recruit and be successful in the (Northwest Athletic Conference),” SPSCC athletic director Nick Schmidt said. “And she comes from one of the more successful athletic programs in the league, and knows what it’s like to be a part of a winning culture.”
The Clippers will debut Aug. 27 and 28 at the NWAC Volleyball Showcase in Eugene, Oregon. The team debuts at home Sept. 7, when it hosts Clark College.
