Vacuum your house without lifting a finger with the iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
Vacuuming is one of those daily chores that can be a pain in the neck (and back, depending on how often you have to stoop and stretch to reach hard-to-access areas). But as robot vacuums get smarter and more efficient, vacuuming has become a hands-free activity for me, thanks to the iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO.
I’ve been enjoying the iRobot’s “smart features” such as its Dirt Detect Technology as well as its overall thoroughness when cleaning. And now is no better time to get one as they’re currently on sale at Amazon for over $100 off their original price. Here’s my rundown of this vacuum’s powerful features and why I recommend it.
iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO Vacuum, $263.15 (32% off)
At the heart of the Roomba is a three-stage cleaning system: multi-surface rubber brushes that lift dirt up, an edge-sweeping brush to access corners, and power-lifting suction to vacuum it all up. The multi-surface brushes are particularly handy for picking up pet hair — and as the owner of a dog who sheds, I can say the iRobot does a great job of doing so. Speaking of pets, the Roomba also has a child and pet lock that prevents accidental starts. On its own, that would be enough to qualify the iRobot as a solid vacuum, but it’s in its smart features that this machine really shines. As the robot “learns” each room of your house, it maps them to internal memory so you can direct it to clean any specific room at any time, or create a regular cleaning schedule for it. Even better, if the vacuum runs out of battery in the middle of cleaning, it will return to “home base” to recharge itself and pick up right where it left off.
You can sync the Roomba with a virtual assistant like Siri or Google Assistant so you can issue commands to it from anywhere in the house. If you download the iRobot Home App to your phone, you’ll also get up-to-the-minute information on how much of a room has been cleaned and your Roomba’s current battery life, as well as customized cleaning suggestions.
Finally, this is a vacuum that knows how to pick up after itself. Its docking station includes a bag into which the Roomba empties its bin whenever it’s full. The only manual work involved is dumping and replacing the bag every 60 days.
I’m not the only one impressed with this version of the iRobot. This vacuum has nearly 10,000 five-star ratings on Amazon, and reviewers have cited the Roomba i3+’s substantial battery life, effectiveness on hardwood and carpet floors, and mapping features as big pluses. “Can’t believe I waited so long to buy this,” said one reviewer. “Do yourself a huge favor and order a Roomba ASAP!”
If you’re ready to jump into the convenient world of robot vacuum cleaning, I recommend the iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO. It’s a great choice for its price (even better at its current discount), its key smart features such as mapping and virtual assistant control, and its solid performance.
