Out and About: Catch ‘Christmas Carol’ or finish your holiday shopping at the market
‘Carol’ continues
It’s not too late to see Harlequin Productions’ adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” starring Seattle’s Terry Edward Moore, a veteran actor who played Scrooge in last year’s radio play version and the title role in 2019’s “Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol.” Those who want to see the miser’s redemption — and some spooky ghosts — can catch the show at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, or get a two-for-one deal once Christmas is past for shows at 2 p.m. Dec. 26 and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 29-31. (Use code HP2FOR1.) The theater is at 202 Fourth Ave. E., Olympia. Tickets (before the discount) are $49, $45 for seniors and military, $25 for students and youths. Proof of vaccination or a negative test result is required for those 12 and older. Get tickets and details at https://harlequinproductions.org, or call 360-786-0151.
To market
For procrastinators who celebrate Christmas by giving gifts, there are mere hours left to shop. The Olympia Farmers Market, at 700 Capitol Way N., might be just the place to find something locally made — and you can stock up on fresh produce while you’re there, too. The market — where vendors sell such giftables as jewelry, ceramics, cozy wool slippers, candles, soap and more — is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24. Find out more at https://www.olympiafarmersmarket.com/, or call 360-352-9096.
Freelance writer Molly Gilmore talks about what’s happening in Olympia and beyond with 95.3 KGY-FM’s Michael Stein from 3 to 4 p.m. Fridays.
