Pitbull learned early in life that music can be an escape from a lifestyle that can take you in the wrong direction, and since that point his career has become limitless. He was born Armando Christian Perez in 1981 in Miami, and is of Cuban descent. His father taught him to recite the words of Cuban poet and independence leader Jose Marti. After his parents split up, his mother struggled to make ends meet. For a while he spent time with a foster family in rural Roswell, Georgia. Pitbull began rapping in high school after his mother kicked him out for dealing drugs. Upon graduation he focused on his career, performing wherever he could.

It was Lil Jon that turned his career around, inviting him to appear on his 2002 album “Kings of Crunk.” Pitbull signed with TVT Records, which issued his three #1 independent albums, his gold debut “M.I.A.M.I.: Money Is A Major Issue” (2004), “El Marie” (2006), and “The Boatlif” (2007). These albums solidified his reputation as rap’s most versatile leading man. He is known for his rapid-fire rhymes, billion-dollar beats, and globally infectious hooks.

From there he moved on, signing to Polo Grounds Music/J Records. It was at that time that he won the first-ever “Latin Digital Download Artist of the Year” award at the 2009 Billboard Latin Music Awards.

His sixth album, Planet Pit featured hot single, “Give Me Everything,” while his seventh album, Global Warming included the lead single “Get It Started” featuring Shakira and “Feel This Moment” with Christina Aguilera. Pitbull’s latest album,Globilization was released last November, with “Time of Our Lives” peaking at No. 9 on the Hot 100 chart.

Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitter performed the song, “We Are One” at the opening ceremony of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Last year, he also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and completed the year hosting and co-producing a live New Year’s Eve concert special on Fox TV. Looking ahead, Album Dale is scheduled to be released later this year.

On the business side, he has introduced his specialty vodka Voli, partnered with Sheets, the dissolvable energy strip, inked major sponsorship deals with blue-chip brands Kodak, Dr. Pepper, and Bud Light, and started a fragrance with Jacavi Worldwide and Parlux Ltd.
