The Washington Center for the Performing Arts is hosting National Geographic Live -- From Summit to Sea with Andy Mann, an award-winning filmmaker and photographer who has followed scientists to some of the most extreme locations on the planet to shed light on Earth’s incredible ocean environments and advocate for their protection. He now spends over 100 days a year at sea, covering all seven continents for National Geographic. He will speak and share images at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at the Washington Center, 512 Washington St. SE, Olympia. Tickets are $25 to $50.
Vintage vino
Done with dry January? Then head to the 2023 Elma Winter Wine Festival. This one-day festival runs from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, in the Mike Murphy Pavilion at the Grays Harbor County Fair and Event Center, 32 Elma McCleary Road, Elma. Taste wines from over 20 different wineries, shop vendors and have fun with friends while listening to live music. Advance tickets are $30 per person or $55 per couple, or pay $35 per person at the door. Must be 21 or older to attend, with a photo ID. Live music will be provided by Backfire Band, Jokers Wild and The Olsen Bros.
Revisit Twin Peaks
The Olympia Film Society will screen “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me,” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Capitol Theater, 206 Fifth Ave. SE, Olympia. The film is a prequel to David Lynch’s groundbreaking 1990s television series set in the Pacific Northwest, and stars Sheryl Lee as teenager Laura Palmer, whose mysterious death was the basis for the series. Lee will be available for a post-screening Q&A. Tickets are $25 general admission and $20 for OFS members. Doors open at 6 p.m. at the theater at 206 Fifth Ave. SE, Olympia.

Join U Got It Production’s (Teina Manu, Amos Mack, Ruben Kerson, and Lynette Manning) are partnering with headliner Vince Valenzuela for Comedy Night at Heritage Distilling Co. in Tumwater. Valenzuela has shared the stage with comedians such as Adam Sandler, Bobcat Goldthwait, Robert Klein, Paul Rodriguez and Howie Mandel, and he’s gained national recognition from television appearances on Comedy Central’s Make Me Laugh, A&E’s An Evening at the Improv, HBO’s Loco Slam, USA’s Up All Night and more. Tickets are $20 for the 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, show, and Heritage Distilling is at 4200 Capitol Boulevard South #Suite 104.
