Aubrey Plaza Debuts Baby Bump on First Red Carpet Since Shocking Pregnancy News

Aubrey Plaza stepped back onto the red carpet this week with a radiant new glow.

The actress made her first major public appearance since announcing she is expecting her first child, attending a special screening for her upcoming animated series Kevin on Thursday, April 16 in New York City. Plaza, 41, posed while gently holding her belly, smiling at the camera alongside her costars.

For the event, Plaza wore a white and blue floral minidress, paired with white pointed-toe heels. She also carried a jeweled cat statuette, which was a nod to the title character of the new series. In a video of the carpet, she can be seen gently stroking the cat.

Plaza's co-starsWhoopi Goldberg and Quinta Brunsonwere photographed embracing her baby bump on the carpet. In one photo, the two stand on either side of Plaza while placing their hands on Plaza's stomach while she beams.

The outing came just days after Plaza publicly confirmed she is expecting a child with partner Chris Abbott on April 7. The announcement followed a pretty emotional year for the Parks and Rec alum after the death of her husband, Jeff Baena, by suicide in January 2025.

PEOPLE revealed that Plaza is opening up about the pregnancy in a forthcoming episode of Will Arnett's Smartless podcast. When asked whether she would ever take birth control again, coming off the heels of a conversation regarding her 2004 stroke, she replied, "Well, there's a baby inside." She then clarified, "No, I said there is a baby inside of me right now." The hosts congratulated her, calling the news exciting, while Plaza admitted, "I know, it's very shocking."

When asked about motherhood, she shared, "I've always wanted to see what that's all about, you know? It just seems so interesting, that whole thing."

The full episode will drop on Monday, April 20, and it is currently behind a paywall.
