‘Dutton Ranch' Episode 1 Release Date, Time, Where to Watch

The latest “Yellowstone” spinoff is finally here to further expand the Dutton clan’s epic lore. The show premieres on Paramount+ on Friday, May 15, 2026, and consists of nine episodes. 

Helmed by Chad Feehan and based on the characters created by Taylor Sheridan, “Dutton Ranch” serves as a sequel to “Yellowstone.” But is it worth investing in?

It’s the fifth series set in that increasingly layered universe, and it follows hot on the heels of the worst-reviewed franchise entry yet. That’s 2026’s “Marshals,” which received an underwhelming 43% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. 

It set a new low for Sheridan shows taking place in the “Yellowstone” world, which doesn’t bode well for “Dutton Ranch.” However, “Marshals” was a CBS production, and this is Paramount+. That could make all the difference.

Feehan is also behind 2023 Western series “Lawmen: Bass Reeves,” which arrived to a far higher 79% score. It looks like, at the very least, “Dutton Ranch” will be worth giving a go.

It’s the farthest ahead in the timeline, which began in 1883 with the 2021 drama “1883.” Next, in chronological order, comes 2022’s “1923.” Then “Yellowstone,” “Marshals,” and now “Dutton Ranch,” taking us right up to modern day. Watching all of the series isn’t required,, but it will add context to the experience.

The show takes the action from Montana to Texas, and sees Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler tackle increasingly stressful challenges as they attempt to run their own sprawling, 7,000-acre ranch. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprise their roles from “Yellowstone.”
