'80s TV Icon Marla Gibbs, 94, Serves Major Fitspo With New Gym Snapshot
If you've been looking for fuel to add to your fitness fire, look no further than Marla Gibbs' social media account, where The Jeffersons star is serving some major inspiration.
The 94-year-old shared a few words of wisdom on her Instagram account this evening, offering fans a glimpse at a major part of her health and wellness routine: keeping active by working out.
In the new photo, the '80s icon wore a pair of striped navy joggers and a bright blue zip-up over a white tee as she sat on a large piece of gym equipment, holding the handles out to her sides as she appeared to do a round of chest presses, or a similar exercise.
"At my age it's easy to just lay in bed," she admitted in the caption of the fitspo pic. "Then I remember…as long as I'm breathing, I still have a chance to enjoy life. It's Never Too Late!!!💪🏾❤️."
The advice also happens to be the name of her memoir, published earlier this year, in which she details a series of massive health complications that most people don't survive. But, as she added in the hashtags, she "keep[s] on moving"-something her followers needed a little reminder for.
Fans praised the "Shero right in front of us!" in the comments, gushing over the "Words everyone should live by."
"I know that's right. I hope I'll be doing this when I reach your age.👏🏾👏🏾," one follower promised, while another shared, "You just inspired me to get up off of my rusty dusty you know what!🏃🏽♀️."
"Let me get off my couch Miss Martha 🙌🏾," someone else reiterated, while another fawned, "Yasss!! ❤️ LOVE this and You! Keep moving Ms. Gibbs!😍."
Overall, the beloved actress proved to "truly inspire" her fanbase with her self-motivation, which seems to stem from her time in physical rehabilitation following her health crisis. "There was just something inside me that kept saying, ‘It ain't over,'" she wrote in her book. It took endless amounts of patience, but over, it sure isn't.
