KFC's Fried Pickles Are Back for the Summer, and It's a Really Big ‘Dill'
KFC is bringing back a fan favorite just in time for the summer. Fried pickles are on the fast food giant's menu again, and that's not all. Seriously. The affordable eatery has a lot going on right now.
Along with the tangy, crunchy, battered-covered side, KFC just unveiled a brand-new drink-Prickly Pear Lemonade. As you might expect, this delish drink is a mash-up of KFC's Signature Lemonade and prickly pear cactus flavoring. The tart yet surprisingly sweet mix is the perfect summer mocktail. But wait, it gets even better.
Inflation has taken a bite out of your dining budget. This summer, Rewards members can score KFC's new 5 for $5 Tenders Deal or the $5 Chicken Variety Box. The limited-time bargain buys feature five tenders and two dipping sauces, or two pieces of chicken, five nuggets, a dipping sauce, and a drink for… of course, you've already guessed it, $5.
While musing over your potential savings sure is fun, chicken tenders really aren't the star of this show. So we're going back to those fabulous fried pickles. Melissa Cash, CMO, KFC U.S., shared in a press release, "The pickle craze is here to stay." Cash continued, "The response to our friend pickles last summer proved that demand is still strong. We're building on that momentum by bringing them back to our menu."
Cash also added some info about a few new options, "This time, fans can pair their fried pickles with our bold new sauces and a refreshing lemonade. It's a cravable lineup of savory, spicy, and cool flavors, all built around that signature crunch they can't get enough of."
So what do diners think about the fried pickles? We took a look at what social media users said the last time this impressive item hit KFC's menu. One Redditor raved, "Fried pickles…God sent. Their pickles have been the best to me, but with the fried on them, I literally cannot." Fans also took to Instagram, praising the pickles with comments like, "OMG so good" and "Keep them."
When Can You Get KFC's New Fried Pickles?
Don't wait to nab this seasonal selection. The pickles are already available nationwide, but only for a limited time. So get your eight-piece order ASAP. The sought-after side also comes with your choice of dipping sauce. And bonus, this year you have two new options: Jalapeno Ranch and Honey Chili Crisp.
Ordering online? KFC just introduced digital-exclusive Nuggets and Fried Pickles (five chicken nuggets and eight fried pickles with sauce) or Fries and Fried Pickles (eight fried pickles and fries with sauce) meals.
