Is Jonathan Bennett Leaving Hallmark for ‘General Hospital'?

Hallmark star Jonathan Bennett is returning to his soap roots with a new role on General Hospital.

Bennett will be playing Detective Joe Fitzpatrick on the ABC soap. News of his latest gig has some Hallmark fans concerned that the Finding Mr. Christmas host is leaving the network behind for General Hospital.

Is Jonathan Bennett Leaving Hallmark?

There is good news for Hallmark fans, as Bennett still plans to be involved with the network.

When General Hospital announced Bennett was joining the show, the official Instagram account for the ABC soap posted a photo of the actor. In the comments section of the social media share, one fan asked if the news marked the end of Bennett's run on Hallmark.

"Oh no does this mean no more Hallmark movies? I don't get to watch General Hospital since I'm at work," the fan questioned.

Bennett assured the fan in the comments, replying, "Hallmark is not going anywhere. Still doing Hallmark."

Last week, the actor proved he's still involved with the network when it was revealed that Bennett will host all four weekends of The Hallmark Christmas Experience. The annual holiday event takes place at Crown Center in Kansas City, Missouri, and kicks off Thanksgiving weekend, Nov 27–29.

It runs every weekend until the one right before Christmas, with dates spanning Dec 4–6, Dec 11–13, and Dec 18–20, 2026.

Bennet has not shared whether he has a new Hallmark movie coming out this year; however, over the past several years, he has had at least one Hallmark Christmas movie premiere.

In the meantime, Bennett is getting ready to shake things up in Port Charles. The actor recently admitted that playing Joe was a dream role, and that he knew the second he read the script that he had to take it.

The former All My Childrenalum already has a friend on set. Bennett worked withCameron Mathison when he started his career on the ABC soap back in 2001.

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
