Carson Daly Reveals Surprising Dating Dealbreaker for His Kids: 'Am I Gonna Get Canceled For That?'
Today host Carson Daly recently revealed a potentially controversial dating dealbreaker, admitting he was afraid that saying it would get him "canceled."
On Monday, May 18, Daly filled in for Sheinelle Jones during the show's fourth hour, alongside Jenna Bush Hager. He and the former first daughter tackled the topic of "dealbreakers" when it comes to the people their kids would theoretically date.
"The only reservation I would have for my kids would be, like, [if they dated] a vegan or something like that, maybe," Daly confessed.
As the Today crew laughed, he immediately put his hand over his mouth and asked, "Is that bad to say? Am I gonna get canceled for that?"
Daly and his wife, Siri Pinter, share four kids: Jackson, 17, Etta, 13, London, 11, and Goldie, 6,
"Yeah, I mean, look at me!" Daly continued, gesturing to his body. "Food is, like, a really important part of, like, the fabric of our family."
He added, "If we didn't have food, I wouldn't talk to my wife about anything. It holds us together. So if one of them brought home a date who was super picky, and like, ‘I don't eat anything-fish from the sea, cows that go moo.'"
When Bush Hager asked, "What about allergies?" Daly quickly replied, "Of course. I'm not the devil! I don't wish illness on boyfriends!"

Also during Monday's episode, Daly shared a parenting hack that might come in handy for moms and dads with teenagers. It centered around meeting them "where they are."
"Six months ago, I did join Snapchat," he shared. "And I have literally communicated with my daughter, in particular, more via Snapchat than I have in real life... As silly as it is, I am connected a little bit."
Additionally, the father of four joked that he was looking at real estate near where his son wants to go to school, for when Jackson goes off to college next year.
