This I Love Ice Cream Cakes exclusive is only coming to Publix Bakery freezers. Publix has over 1,400 locations across the United States. You can find this grocery chain in eight states, including Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, and Kentucky. What is the Fudgie the Whale Carvel Ice Cream Cake?

The iconic ice cream cake first made waves in 1977 as a Father's Day promotion. Hint: Keep the tradition going and pick one up for Dad this year.

While ice cream enthusiasts could only find the decadent dessert in Carvel shoppes, now you can get the classic cake at your local Publix grocery store. The new 46-ounce freezer section selection features a round design and serves 6 to 10 people.

Even though this is the first time fans can snag Fudgie the Whale from a Publix retailer, the cake still has the same rich, dreamy layers of chocolate and vanilla ice cream, signature Carvel Crunchies, chocolate coating, and adorable whale design.

Rich products' Brand Marketing Manager, Ice Cream Cakes, Kim Mrowczynski, said of the new (but still classic) dessert, "Fudgie the Whale is more than just a cake - it's a shared memory for so many families."

Mrowczynski continued, "This summer, we're excited to bring that nostalgia into homes in a new way, providing families who aren't near a Carvel shoppe the opportunity to celebrate the moments that matter most."
