Dave Grohl Rocks With Sepultura at Final U.S. Stop of Farewell Tour
Dave Grohl is known for being in the grunge genre, but he’s a metalhead, too. Grohl is the kind of musician who actually appreciates a range of genres, from alternative rock to pop to metal.
Over the weekend, Grohl paid tribute to a metal band playing their final show in the U.S. On Friday, May 29, Grohl joined Sepultura onstage in Los Angeles for what marked the last U.S. stop of the celebrated Brazilian thrash-metal band’s farewell run.
Grohl joined the band for the instrumental “Kaiowas” on drums and was part of a drummer percussion jam, standing next to vocalist Derrick Green.

This isn’t Grohl’s first time being involved with Sepultura. He even enlisted founding Sepultura band member Max Cavalera to write and play on the one album by Grohl’s heavy metal side project Probot. What happened to Probot, by the way? That band had so much potential, but Grohl has a bevy of musical projects, so it’s understandable that Probot would be short-lived.
In other news, Sepultura recently announced their final concert in the world, which is set for Nov. 7 in São Paulo, Brazil. They also have a collection of Europe and U.K. tour dates up ahead. The band released their final EP, “The Cloud of Unknowing,” on April 24.
