Netflix Unveils New Destination for Book Lovers and Adaptation Fans
Books and screen adaptations have grown increasingly inseparable in recent years. As bestselling novels continue to fuel film and TV hits, Netflix has unveiled a new hub dedicated to fans of literary adaptations.
On June 2, the streaming platform announced that bookworms are in for a special treat as they are turning your "homepage into your favorite bookstore" with the introduction of "Watch Your Favorite Books." Now live, the new hub is a place for fans to rediscover old favorites, adaptations they never knew existed, or binge-worthy content worth watching.
The "Watch Your Favorite Books" hub gives fans an array of novels and book series that have been turned into popular TV adaptations or award-winning movies. The team at Netflix organized the hub around nine distinct categories based on each type of reader. Readers who love a good romance will easily find an adaptation with a good plot twist or one that will make them swoon. Explore the nine categories below that might have fans reading and watching at the same time:
- You Crave Amazing Characters
- You're into Immersive World-Building
- You Love a Great Plot Twist
- You Savor Swoonworthy Romances
- You're a Nonfiction Fanatic
- You're a History and Period Piece Buff
- You Adore All-Ages Adventures
- You Collect Manga and Comics
- You're Wild About Web Stories
"We've seen a real passion from fans around Netflix's library of book adaptations. Our team looked to celebrate that fandom by creating a destination on Netflix for enthusiasts to explore their favorites and find more stories they'll love," said Mansi Patel, Netflix's Senior Director of Product Merchandising.
"Built on our recently redesigned experience and the success of earlier fan-inspired collections, such as ‘Your Zodiac Watchlist,' ‘Watch Your Favorite Books' brings together our library of book-inspired entertainment into one engaging, immersive space, making it fun and exciting to find what to watch next based on your personal taste and reading style."
Netflix added that they are excited to see how avid readers and fans of great storytelling dive into a world of "book-inspired entertainment." The hub includes hits like Remarkably Bright Creatures, Interview with a Vampire, Orange is the New Black, Mindhunter, and hit series like Rizzoli & Isles, Bridgerton, and more. Manga fans can also explore anime adaptations from One Piece to My Hero Academia.
