Sur La Table Kicks Off Popular Summer Program Nationwide - And It's Perfect for Little Chefs
Summer is finally upon us, which means for parents, the school year is winding down, and talk of day camp is probably top of mind for those who work outside of the home (or who simply want their kids to enjoy some structured activities with their peers). When considering programs that will offer an enriching experience, how about exploring a skill everyone will inevitably need in life? Sur La Table, a premium kitchenware store and cooking school, has the perfect option.
Great for aspiring little chefs, the retailer is officially kicking off its annual kids' cooking camps, which will run throughout the summer. Taking place a few hours daily from Monday through Friday, each week focuses on a different theme-from dessert baking to pizza-making and more.
This year, the fan-favorite Kids & Teens Summer Series is slated to present drop-off programming "filled with fun, learning, and culinary exploration in the safety of our kitchens," the brand promises. "Whether your child is well-versed in kitchen techniques already or they're completely new to cooking and baking, they'll love this immersive experience filled with delicious foods and hands-on tasks."
From June 1 to September 4, 2026, Sur La Table will help kids learn age-appropriate cooking techniques and skills, gain confidence in the kitchen, and work with ingredients hands-on, while learning from professional chefs and instructors. "Student perks" include an apron they can keep, a certificate of completion, and printed menus to recreate the meals they've learned to make whenever they want.
Kids ages 7 to 11 can be enrolled in Great Kids Bake Week, where they'll learn mixing, shaping, and baking basics, Cook, Bake, and Create, where favorite foods like breakfast bites and pizza are on the menu, and World of Flavor, with world cuisines taking center stage.
Meanwhile, preteens and teenagers ages 12 to 17 have the options of The Pastry Showcase, a "pastry-intensive week" with artisan breads and dough galore, Culinary World Tour, testing bold global dishes, and Technique & Taste Mastery, where they'll be tasked with challenging, chef-driven recipes that build advanced cooking skills.
Over the years, cooking camps have risen in popularity, becoming an elevated summer experience for little ones with an interest in cooking. Sur La Table's weekly kids' camps can be booked for participating locations nationwide online.
