‘MasterChef: Global Gauntlet' Results: Who Went Home Tonight? (Night 4)
The MasterChef: Global Gauntlet kitchen was transformed into a backyard barbecue for tonight's episode, with the remaining home cooks tasked with cooking dishes that would be perfect for a FIFA World Cup watch party in the "World Cup Cookoff" episode.
As usual, there was a twist. At halftime, Dave Patera, who was the holder of the Immunity Pin after winning last week's team challenge, got to bench one cook from this challenge. That person was safe. But how to pick? If he got rid of a territory's best cook, the chances of that territory getting a win went way down, but if someone from his own team looked like they were in trouble, he could use the bench to save them. The person who created the best dish won the Immunity Pin for next week's challenge, plus a $2500 gift card from Home Depot.
Here's our spoiler-filled recap of who went home on MasterChef tonight.

Who won the MasterChef: Global Gauntlet challenge?
The "World Cup Cookoff" challenge is to cook a dish that would be perfect for a FIFA World Cup watch party, but not finger food or handhelds, rather plated meals.
Thirty minutes into the cook, Dave chose to use the red bench card on Rita, a member of his Africa team, because he felt she was in danger as she hadn't started to cook her protein yet. She did not look happy. It was a tough decision for him to make because that left only two other members – Heidi and Peter – one of whom would be in the top and the other in the bottom.
Top Dishes
Asia-Pacific: Jaime: Roti Canai
Europe: Jamie: Pan-Seared Scallops
Africa: Heidi: New York Stripped Steak
The Americas: Tkaiya: Escovitch Fish
Of the four, the best dish of the night was Jamie's Roti Canai.
"I am really proud of myself for the first time in a while," Jamie said. "To win is to honor my parents for all their hard work and to get the $2500 from Home Depot is incredible. I'm confident I made my mom and dad proud tonight."
Who was in the MasterChef: Global Gauntlet bottom three this week?
The three bottom dishes were:
Europe: Nico: Chicken Skewers
Africa: Peter: Piri-Piri-Spiced Rib Eye
The Americas: Maria: Flank Steak
The worst dish of the night was Nico.
"I came into this competition with a grandiose attitude. I feel you guys could tell, but it's been one of the most fun but humbling experiences I've ever had," he said. "I came into this whole thing knowing I was going to win but this competition is a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. Tonight, I am quite disappointed in myself. The Nico who came into this competition is not the Nico who's leaving. I feel that I've grown a little bit. It was a letdown to not win, but I am still going to pursue my food dreams, so I'm leaving today excited for what the future holds."
Following this week's episode, MasterChef will pause for the World Cup and new episodes will continue on July 15th.
