Popular Sauce Sold in 41 States Recalled Over 'Highest Risk' Salmonella Concerns
A popular Alfredo sauce made by The Coffee Connexion Co. Inc. sold across dozens of states is being urgently recalled over concerns it may be contaminated with salmonella.
The recall affects 41 states and has been labeled a "highest risk" by officials, according to recent alerts.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the recall was initiated because the "product contains dry milk powder ingredient recalled by the supplier due to potential Salmonella contamination."
The recall affects more than 900 cases of the product sold in 3-lb., 7-oz. packages. The expiration dates on the product range from Jan. 12, 2028, to April 20, 2028. The UPC on the cases is 0039954921963 and the recall includes batches 046188 through 046193.
The affected Alfredo sauce was distributed in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
If you purchased Alfredo sauce from The Coffee Connexion Co. Inc., you should not eat it. According to the U.S. Food Safety website, you should return any recalled products to the store where you purchased it to receive a full refund.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, symptoms of Salmonella poisoning include diarrhea, fever, stomach pains or cramps, nausea and vomiting, and headache.
