Arsenio Hall is coming to Tacoma

He came to America, and now he’s coming to Tacoma.

Comedian Arsenio Hall will perform a stand-up show in Tacoma on June 4, 2016.

Hall, the former host of “The Arsenio Hall Show,” co-starred with Eddie Murphy in “Coming to America” in 1988.

Tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. Nov. 20 for the show at the Pantages Theater.

Hall, now 59, revolutionized late-night talk shows during the 1989-1994 run of “The Arsenio Hall Show.”

Proving that talk show hosts didn’t need to be old white men, the Ohio native pulled in guests from the world of entertainment, sports and politics — people who weren’t getting face time on other shows.

Moments like Magic Johnson talking about this HIV status and Bill Clinton playing the sax defined Hall’s show.

Since leaving that show Hall went on to lesser profile gigs on a number of other entertainment and news shows.

In 2012, Hall took the top boardroom seat on Donald Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice.”

In 2013, Hall tried to recapture the magic of his original talk show when he returned to late-night television as host of “The Arsenio Hall Show.” The show lasted only one season.

Hall only recently returned to performing stand-up.

Tickets to the Hall show in Tacoma are $19, $40, $55, and $69 and are on sale now for Broadway Center members. Tickets go on sale to the public at 11 a.m. Nov. 20. To purchase tickets, call the Broadway Center Box Office at 253-591-5894, 800-291-7593, in person at 901 Broadway in Tacoma, or online at BroadwayCenter.org.
