On the Road: OrcaCon will put emphasis on analog games
OrcaCon 2016
What: This is a games and geek convention with a focus on analog games. The new event will include activities such as board and card games, role-playing games and miniature games. The convention will appeal to novices and experienced gamers.
When: Jan. 8-10.
Where: Holiday Inn Downtown, 3105 Pine St., Everett.
Activities: There will be scheduled games, tournaments, open game areas and free demonstrations. There also will be panel discussions and exhibitor booths.
Games on tap: Some of the games that will be taking place are Dominion, Fluxx, Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Axis & Allies, Lady Blackbird, Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon,Kemonammer and X-Wing Miniatures.
Special guests: Scheduled to appear at the event are Chris Pramas, chief executive officer of Green Ronin Publishing. He is an award-winning game designer, writer and publisher. Linda “Brasse” Carlson will be the artist guest of honor. Also expected at the convention are Keith Baker; Nicole Lindroos; Shanna Germain; and James Ernest.
Note: Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is a member.
Admission: Memberships are $55 until Dec. 26, $65 at the door.
