Hot rods
It’s all about custom cars and hot rods in a family-friendly atmosphere at the annual Northwest Rodarama at the Washington State Fair Events Center, 110 Ninth Ave. SW, Puyallup. Saturday is Kids Day with free pin-striping bike helmets or toys, a Hot Wheels race track display and pedal car display. Dave Kindig of Kindig it Design Show will be on hand Sunday, plus Lance Lambert of The Vintage Vehicle Show. Hours are 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Old-time jazz
Bringing prohibition era jazz to the stage, The Rhythm Runners is a five-piece group with musicians from New Orleans, New York and Seattle. It features Greg Ruby on guitar, Gordon Au on trumpet, Charlie Halloran on trombone, Dennis Lichtman on clarinet and Cassidy Holden on bass. Fun and laughter
Known for his quick wit and often strange observations, Jubal Flagg is a local standup comedian, radio host, television personality and comedy writer. He hosts “Brooke and Jubal in the Morning” on Movin 92.5 and can be seen as a regular on FOX TV’s Dish Nation. Come out for a night of laughs when he comes to The Washington Center for Performing Arts, 512 Washington St. SE, Olympia, for a 7:30 p.m. show Saturday. Support families
Come out to support the nonprofit Family Education and Support Services at the Seeds of Hope “Music to Live By” benefit concert. Righteous Mothers and DBST will perform music designed to “lighten your heart and entertain your soul” in a 6 p.m. concert Saturday. The agency provides parent education and support for all families in the community. The concert is at the Minnaert Center for Performing Arts, 2011 Mottman Road SW, Olympia. Telling secrets
Inspired by more than a million anonymous secrets mailed on postcards to artist and curator Frank Warren, “Post Secret: the Show” is a visual, auditory and emotional journey through peoples’ deepest feats, ambitions and confessions. Three actors will take the stage at The Washington Center for the Performing Arts, 512 Washington St. SE, Olympia, guiding the audience through the stories. The performance is 7:30 p.m. Thursday. As part of the Lacey Timberland Library’s 25th anniversary, the Olympia Aloha Ukelele Pu’ukani will perform a free concert 2 p.m. Saturday. Sharing Hawaiian, hapa-haole and Maori songs, and even some hula, the all-volunteer group is sure to bring the feel of the islands to the stage. The library is at 500 College St. SE, Lacey.

Black Box cabaret
Putting his own mark of the future of jazz, Ariel Calabria is a multi-instrumentalist with a focus on guitar. Presenting his original music, he and his band will perform at 8 p.m. Friday (March 25) as part of the Black Box Cabaret series at The Washington Center for Performing Arts, 512 Washington St. SE, Olympia. Movie for kids
The current Olympia Film Society Kids Club feature film is “Boy and the World” an award-winning film about a boy on a quest to reunite his parents. Sponsored by Captain Little: Olympia’s Toy Store, the 11 a.m. screening Saturday is free for kids 12 and younger. General admission is $8, society members $5. Come out to the Capitol Theater, 206 Fifth Ave. SE, Olympia, for a family film outing.
