NYC trio might tickle your fancy

The summer series Music in the Park brings The Tickled Pinks to Sylvester Park on Capitol Way in Olympia for this week’s edition. The New York City-based trio is known for three-part harmony in the style of the Andrews Sister and one of the singers, Stephanie Layton, was born and raised in Olympia. Bring your lawn chair and blanket for the 7 p.m. concert. Admission is free.

Making the rounds for a good cause

Join in the fun and help a worthy cause at this year’s Olympia Pub Crawl from 2 p.m.-midnight. The walking tour takes in pubs, bars and restaurants in downtown Olympia, helping to support local businesses and the Raise for Rowyn, a local charity that provides support and funding for families facing the loss of a child. Dinner, music, mystery to help readers

Support the South Sound Reading Foundation at its annual Books by the Bay. The dinner and music event is a “Murder, Mystery and Mayhem” night with appearances by authors J.A. Jance and Glen Erik Hamilton. There will be inspiring words, food, signature cocktails, live jazz with the Gary Scott Trio and mystery-themed fun. The foundation distributes free books to families, encourages children and families to read and succeed. It is 6-10 p.m. Friday (Aug. 12) with tickets from $50-$55. Sisters offers unusual musical experience

Enjoy a musical experience when twin sisters Mona and Lesa Terry perform a concert at Salon Refu, 114 Capitol Way N., Olympia. Each sister brings a personal interpretation to their music. Mona creates music to transform and heal, while Lesa interprets contemporary music for a one-of-a-kind musical performance. The concert is 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Dinner will benefit Arab Festival

As a benefit to Olympia’s Arab Festival being held in October, the Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace & Justice is hosting a Middle Eastern Dinner featuring Arabic cuisine, drinks and guest entertainment. This fundraiser celebrates Arab culture. There will be raffles, prize giveaways and shopping for gifts including hand-crafted Palestinian embroidery, Canaan Fair Trade products and more. Birds on the agenda at library

Learn what Raindancer Wild Bird Rescue is doing for wildlife rehabilitation and bird education at its Birds of Prey program coming to the Olympia Timberland Regional Library, 313 Eighth Ave. SE, Olympia. Worldful world of the Wurlitzer

Sharon Steames is returning to share a night of pop tunes, classics and many standards not typically played on an organ, in a 7 p.m. concert Thursday. The Wonderful Wurlitzer program is family-friendly and free. Enjoy the sounds of the 1924 organ at the Washington Center, 512 Washington St. SE, Olympia. New York muscial group at Waterstreet Café

The Waterstreet Café and Bar welcomes The New York Trio Plus One to its summer concert series. Join piano master Joe Baque and his band, Steve Luceno on bass, Tom Russell on winds and Michael Olson on percussion. They blend jazz, Latin and popular music.
