‘Love Is Blind’ Star Ashley Adionser Emotionally Details Her ‘Dark’ Split From Tyler Francis
Love Is Blind star Ashley Adionser finally broke her silence on ex Tyler Francis' sperm donor scandal after the two filed for divorce in January.
"It was so dark, it was unlike anything I've ever experienced in my actual life," Ashley, 32, said during an appearance on fellow Love Is Blind star AD Smith's "What's the Reality" podcast on Wednesday, May 21.
During Love Is Blind season 7, Tyler, 35, told Ashley that he was a sperm donor for "a couple he knows," but emphasized that he did not take on the role of father for them. However, the mother of his children, Bri Thomas, claimed he was lying and said that she and Tyler conceived the kids naturally. The news was revealed while the season aired, but Ashley seemed dedicated to sticking by her man at the season 7 reunion.
"I found the truth myself," Ashley told AD, 33, during her podcast appearance. "I want to be very careful with my words. This man by no means deserves any grace from me, and I have every weapon in my arsenal and at my disposal to destroy him, but it's just not my style. And so while he drug [sic] me into this, I don't want him to turn me into someone that I'm not."
She continued, "It impacted the marriage immediately because now I have to question the person I'm laying next to. And I think that that's such a scary feeling to not know what's true, what's not true. He's a pathological liar. And I was looking at this man like, ‘Who are you?' And if we don't have the two biggest things in a marriage, which are trust and honesty, then what do we have?"
The marketing professional also clarified why she trusted Tyler when he first told her about the children.
"What people don't know, too, is that everybody believed him," she said. "When it first came out, when we had the conversation about the sperm donor on camera, but the whole camera crew was, like, crying. People came up to him afterwards and thanked him essentially for his service."
Ashley, who considers herself "wise" and "intuitive," also revealed that finding out Tyler had lied about so many things really messed with her head.
"This was a mind F for me, big time trying to rationalize how he slipped through the cracks," Ashley explained.
Ashley and Tyler seemed like the strongest couple during season 7, but once the claims about Tyler's children surfaced, it didn't take long for their relationship to crumble. Three months after the finale of Love Is Blind dropped on Netflix, Ashley and Tyler announced their decision to divorce.
"After much reflection, I want to share that Tyler and I have been separated for several weeks and have now made the difficult decision to end our marriage," Ashley told People in a statement on January 21. "While I had hoped for mutual understanding and transparency in our relationship, it has become clear that our paths are no longer aligned, making it impossible for me to continue in this marriage."
She continued, "This was not a decision I made lightly, but one I know is necessary for my own growth and peace. While this chapter is ending, I will always hold respect for the time and love we shared. I kindly ask for privacy during this deeply personal time as I focus on healing and building a new future. Thank you for your understanding and support."
Tyler released his own statement two days later via Instagram and said, "While our journey together began with so much hope and love, we came to realize that there were challenges we could not overcome. I take full accountability for my role in the difficulties we faced, and I respect Ashley's decision to move forward in a way that prioritizes her peace and happiness."
