Daltrey’s illness forces The Who to postpone concert tour
The Who has postponed its North American tour, which included a Seattle stop, while Roger Daltrey recovers from viral meningitis.
The band released the announcement Friday morning.
The band had initially postponed the first four shows on its “The Who Hits 50!” tour after Daltrey became ill.
“For the last four weeks, I have been in and out of the hospital and have been diagnosed with viral meningitis,” Daltrey said in a prepared statement. “I am now on the mend and feeling a lot better but I am going to need a considerable time to recover. The doctors tell me I will make a complete recovery, but that I should not do any touring this year.”
In the announcement, Pete Townshend said the band is rescheduling all the shows for spring 2016. The group was scheduled to perform Sept. 27 at Seattle’s Key Arena.
People with tickets to the tour will have them honored when the concerts are rescheduled.
