On the road: Shelton bluegrass celebration
Mid Winter Bluegrass Celebration
WHAT: The third annual event gives bluegrass music fans the opportunity to recharge after the rush of Christmas. Refreshments will be served.
WHEN: 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday.
WHERE: Shelton Performing Arts Center, Shelton High School, 3737 N. Shelton Spring Road, Shelton.
SCHEDULED PERFORMERS: The lineup includes Runaway Train, The Bluegrass Regulators and North Country.
Runaway Train is a veteran quartet that includes Kent Powell, banjo and vocals; Greg Linder, guitar and vocals; Nolan Elwell, mandolin and vocals; and John Pyles, banjo.
The Bluegrass Regulators, based in Gig Harbor, is made up of Luke Dewhirst, banjo and vocals; Martin Stevens, fiddle, mandolin and vocals; Molly Adkins, guitar and vocals; Josh Adkins, bass and vocals; and Jake Dewhirst, guitar and vocals.
North Country is based in Seattle. Members are Nick Dumas, mandolin and vocals; Norm Olsen, guitar and vocals; Kent Powell, bass and vocals; and Will McSeveney, banjo.
The evening will end with a jam session on stage.
NOTE: Proceeds from the event help produce the Bluegrass From the Forest Festival in May.
