LONG-TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN PROGRAM needs volunteers with a few hours a week to spare, a concern for vulnerable adults, and dependable transportation. Trained volunteer ombudsmen listen to the concerns and questions of residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities or adult family homes. NORTHWEST LIONS EYEGLASS RECYCLING CENTER (www.lionsnwlerc.org) in Lacey needs members of the community to volunteer at its facility. The all-volunteer nonprofit supplies used eyeglasses to those who do medical missions for the needy throughout the world. Volunteers do everything from inspecting and washing glasses to determining prescriptions and preparing them for shipment. Some volunteers also serve in staff positions.
