FRED HUTCHINSON CANCER RESEARCH INSTITUTE: The Red Door is sponsoring Team Oly, seven Olympia bicyclists riding Aug. 9 in Obliteride, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. There are three ways to support the team and the center: Donate to Team Oly at obliteride.org; watch “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” at the Capitol Theater in Olympia at 6 p.m. July 2; and attend the Team Oly auction at 6:30 p.m. July 10 at Backyard Castlerock, 7744 Ostrander Ct SE, Olympia. CONCERN FOR ANIMALS: This nonprofit needs dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pig, chicken and bird food; cat litter; beds; blankets and towels in good condition; pet toys; usable dog houses, carriers and crates; leashes and collars. Also, gift cards to any outlet that sells pet food and supplies.
