Charcuterie nachos are the latest snack trend that whips ups this treat using potato chips and Brie cheese rather than tortilla chips and cheddar. Similar to a traditional charcuterie board, these nachos incorporate salty, savory and sweet ingredients for the perfect bite. Plus, this snack requires only five ingredients. Charcuterie nachos are popularly made by layering potato chips, prosciutto and Brie cheese on a sheet tray before baking the ingredients until the cheese is melted. While the nachos are still warm, they’re topped with chives and hot honey before serving.

It’s a riff on the charcuterie chips idea shared by blogger and cookbook author Marissa Mullen back in January—which included caramelized onions, balsamic vinegar and fig jam. But, charcuterie nachos come together much quicker and are a fun shareable snack.

Since potato chips are the base for these nachos, opt for a kettle-cooked variety as they’re crunchier than a regular option. This allows the chips to hold all of the ingredients without falling apart. So, feel free to be generous when piling on the ingredients and garnishes for the most delicious charcuterie nachos!

How to make charcuterie nachos

This charcuterie nachos recipe comes from culinary creator @logansfewd and doesn’t use formal measurements. Just eyeball your desired amounts of each ingredient. In the video, Logan says that he’s previously used salami and blue cheese for these nachos—which are good to use too.

Charcuterie Nachos

Ingredients:

  • Kettle cooked potato chips
  • Prosciutto slices, such as Volpi Traditional Prosciutto
  • Brie cheese (preferably a double-cream variety)
  • Chopped chives
  • Hot honey

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lay out chips on baking sheet.
  3. Grate Brie cheese over chips as first layer. Tear prosciutto into fine pieces and evenly distribute as second layer.
  4. Bake 5 minutes, until cheese is fully melted and prosciutto is slightly crisp.
  5. Remove from the oven. Finish with chives and a drizzle of hot honey. Enjoy!

I’m no stranger to the flavor experience of charcuterie—but I was initially skeptical how it would taste in nacho form. Taking the first bite, I tasted the saltiness from the chips and prosciutto, butteriness from the Brie and sweet yet spiciness from the honey. I enjoyed it and went back for more.

Though I feel like these nachos can be enhanced by adding another cheese like shredded mozzarella or topping it with other charcuterie staples like olives or marinated artichokes. My overall take on this viral treat? While it’s fine as is, it’s okay to add more than five ingredients for extra flavorful nachos.
