Olympia Joann’s likely to close in May. Here are current discounts on fabric
By now, most people have heard that Joann Fabrics and Crafts is going out of business due to bankruptcy. But they might not have heard about the clearance sales happening at the brand’s hundreds of stores around the country.
At the westside Olympia location, which some staff say will likely close in May, everything is discounted up to 60%, according to signage on the outside of the store. Crafting and decor supplies of all kinds are discounted, and many shelves are already empty.
However, the massive sewing and fabric section still has a huge selection in stock, with discounts ranging from 30% to 60% off. That includes quilting cotton, blizzard fleece, flannel, outdoor fabric, broadcloth, special occasion fabric and more.
Customers are required to buy a minimum of 2 yards of fabric per discounted purchase, or whatever is left on the bolt if it’s at the end.
Seasonal silky solid and embellished fabrics are both 50% off, while netting and tulle are 60% off. Sherpa fabric, as well as soft and minky and fleece, are also discounted by 60%. Flannel prints are 50% off, while blizzard fleece prints are 60% off.
No-sew kits are half-priced, quilter’s showcase cotton is 30% off, seasonal cotton is 50% off, and licensed fabrics are 60% off. Keepsake calico cotton fabrics and sewing notions like thread are all 30% off. Additional types of fabric are also on sale.
Joann’s Olympia is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Customers who want to earn an additional 30% off on purchases can apply for temporary work with the store through the online application portal.
