The hardest part about loving a pet is saying goodbye. For animals, saying goodbye to other animals can be just as heartbreaking.

Knowing it was nearing her time to say goodbye, a senior Husky named Bianca made sure to see all of her farm animal friends one last time, bidding each a heartbreaking but loving farewell.

Video of the sweet interaction was shared to social media, pulling at the heartstrings of viewers who know all too well the sorrow of realizing an animal's life is coming to an end.

In a video shared to social media and liked by more than 8,000 people, Bianca can be seen being carted up to her horse buddy's enclosure, giving the horse the opportunity to shower Bianca with loving licks and gentle nose snuggles.

Bianca's health is clearly wavering, and she can barely respond to the horse's sweet overtures, but it's clear both Bianca and the horse know it's time to say goodbye.

"This sad day has come," shared Bianca's family. "My sweet 18.5-year-old Husky Bianca is ready to cross over. Everyone is saying their goodbyes. We will always love you, you sweet perfect angel."

"The horse knew," responded an emotional follower. "Animals are amazing."

Another reflected, "So precious this moment is... Bianca is beautiful."

Do Animals Sense End of Life?

Watching the horse's interaction with Bianca, it's natural to wonder whether the horse is truly aware that Bianca's last days are near. Experts believe animals not only recognize when humans are dying, but may also sense when other animals are approaching the end of their lives.

However, there is no evidence that animals understand the concept of death itself. More likely, animals sense changes in another animal's body language, scent, breathing patterns and body chemistry - all indicators that an animal is nearing the end of its life.

Here, the horse may not understand death, but it likely senses the physical and emotional changes Bianca is experiencing, as well as her shift in energy and demeanor.

That's when another animal's empathy can kick in. Animals have been known to howl or wail when a nearby animal passes away and will often gently nudge a dying human or animal.

Some animals may distance themselves from a dying companion. Not here, though. This Husky is being lovingly given a beautiful goodbye.

Rest easy, Bianca. You will be missed.
