Mom Discovers Great Pyrenees Has a Surprisingly Specific Post-Bath Ritual
Dogs remember routines better than we sometimes realize, and this Great Pyrenees named Ritchie is proving it in the funniest way possible. After his mom lined the grooming bathtub stairs with towels for him one single time eight years ago, the fluffy giant apparently decided that was now the official exit procedure forever, and he refuses to leave the tub unless the towels are arranged exactly the same way.
In the hilarious video, Mom repeatedly asks Ritchie to come down, but the stubborn dog completely ignores her requests. She finally lays down one towel, though it's immediately obvious the setup still doesn't meet his extremely specific standards. But as soon as Towel #2 gets placed exactly where he expects it, Ritchie calmly steps down without another ounce of drama, like the royal spa conditions have finally met his standards.

Ritchie clearly has the memory of an elephant. One commenter got more than 60,000 likes after joking, "Don't introduce me to a vibe you can't maintain."

Can Dogs Form Habits From Just One Experience?
Dogs may forget an unremarkable event within just a couple of minutes, but when it comes to long-term memories, experts believe they can remember meaningful experiences for up to ten years, and possibly their entire lifetime.
According to dog trainer Sian Lawley-Rudd, dogs are constantly learning from the world around them, and every experience helps shape how they react to future situations.
She explains that new habits can form surprisingly quickly, especially when something feels rewarding or becomes part of a routine. Sometimes it's something small, like checking the same window every morning, while other habits become much more obvious, like barking at a certain sound outside… or demanding a very specific towel arrangement after bath time.
At this point, it's pretty clear Ritchie fully believes the towels aren't optional; they're simply part of the spa package now.
