Fluffy Chow Chow's Energy Levels Are All Over the Place and It's So Funny
Just like people, all dogs have their own unique personalities, with interests that vary among them. Some pups are more chill, preferring to stick to themselves and keep energy levels pretty even, while others run on a high level all day-always go-go-go.
In this video, we meet a Chow Chow whose energy levels are a little different than always on or always low. Instead, he's all over the place, cycling through nonstop bursts of excitement followed by sudden crashes into relaxation. The unpredictability somehow makes him even more lovable.

Shared by TikTok user @chowchowkoda, the video shows the stunning Chow Chow, who looks innocent and chill, but you can't let his adorable round face fool you. He's a ball of energy, but it's never even-leveled; instead, his bursts come and go, all over the place, and seeing him go from super speedy to sleepyville is so funny.

In the video's caption, Koda's parent left a really fun message that anyone with a Chow Chow will relate to. "Never a dull moment when you live with a hyperactive ball of fur," the message read.

Why Some Dogs Alternate Between Intense Energy Bursts and Long Periods of Rest
Watching Koda and his energy go up and down, then sideways, then see it slow down before turning back on again is so funny, it's impossible not to smile through the whole thing. Having these bursts of energy that go from intense to low and slow is typical for a dog (and other animals, too), and it's what we'd typically call the "zoomies."
According to Purina UK, zoomies are scientifically called "frenetic random activity periods" (FRAPs), and they're defined as a "sudden burst of energy." This is when your pup is running around in circles really quickly while their tails are tucked in or chasing their tails. Or your pup might have the kind of zoomies where they run fast from one end of the house to the other or do laps in the backyard. They can come on quickly, but they usually don't last long, and it's very normal for dogs.
Add to the zoomies the fact that dogs also need to take several naps in the day, and it makes sense why Koda and other dogs can be completely asleep in one moment and running around like they're training for a marathon the next.
