Shih-Tzu Sweetly 'Walks' Blind Fur Baby Brother Like a Self-Appointed Seeing Eye Dog
Dogs are natural caretakers. They can sense when someone is sad or in need of support and often step in to give comfort and any assistance they can provide. The compassion these canines have makes them wonderful service and therapy dogs.
Ella the Shih-Tzu is a perfect example of this empathy, where she took it upon herself to guide her blind brother Duke when they were on a walk.

In the TikTok from @malpaldoh, Ella walked a distance ahead of Duke and looked very confident in where she was going. The dog leash was clipped to Ella at one end in front, with Duke secured on the other end behind her. Ella didn't know she'd be serving as a seeing eye dog for the day, but the precious pooch was more than happy to step up.
"A wholesome moment: our blind dog being walked by his sister," the onscreen text explained.
The caption went into greater detail of how their daily strolls are usually handled. "Duke normally rides in the stroller on our walks nowadays," the caption shared. "But last night, he was jumping out of the stroller trying to walk on his own, so we let Ella 'walk him' and our hearts melted."
Followers were moved by Ella's selfless act and the strong bond between the fur baby siblings.
"I'm crying - I have a blind dog named Ellie. This is so sweet," one gushed.
"This is so heartwarming to see," another remarked.
"That's one good sister," a follower noted.
"They're nothing but heart and love and loyalty!!" someone posted.
How Dogs Show Empathy
Dogs may not be able to talk, but their love language speaks volumes. Their gentle and kind actions show the enormous capacity for compassion these canines possess.
A dog's mere presence can be healing. They give comfort with lots of snuggles and being by their loved one's side.

Canines have a sense of loyalty beyond compare. They are dedicated to their family members, pet siblings, and fur baby friends and show it through their love and companionship.
