Dogs love to take naps, and some aren't very picky about when or where they take them. But some pups must find the right conditions for the perfect rest, and this means taking their time, and they're not willing to cut corners.

In this video, we meet a Mini Dachshund who's committed to performing an elaborate routine to get her pillow just right before lying down. Yes, it's dramatic, but it's also really cute. Take a look!

TikTok user @ciciolive_mini_weiners shared a video of one of the two tiny Dachshunds who was getting ready to take a rest, but she was insistent on things being absolutely perfect, just right.

To get her nap spot just the way she likes it, the Mini Dachshund, with a toy in her mouth, of course, jumped onto the pillow on the couch, between her two favorite people, and got into her routine of getting that pillow just perfect. She doesn't care how long it takes to make everything right, but she is very committed to getting there.

Why Dogs Circle, Dig, and 'Nest' Before Lying Down, According to Experts

The adorable Mini Dachshund is getting settled in for a nap, but she's not the only dog who does the interesting routine of walking in circles; it's a pretty common behavior among dogs.

Reader's Digest explains that dogs circle, dig, and "nest" before finally lying down for reasons tied to instinct rather than actual need. Some reasons include regulating body temperature, seeking the cold side of the pillow, performing a safety check to ensure the sleeping spot isn't hard or harmful, and getting comfortable.

It's normal behavior in pups, something dogs have been doing for a long time (wolves, too), and it's a cute quirk you get to watch as a dog parent.
