This Chatty Parrot Has a Unique Sound for Every Mood
Did you know that birds make unique sounds for different situations? In the wild, it can be difficult for us to tell one call from another, but with a pet Parrot, the differences are often much easier to recognize. Many Parrots have clear and distinct vocalizations, each with its own meaning depending on how they're feeling or what they're trying to communicate.
Ruby, an Eclectus Parrot, is the newest addition to Wendy Albright's bird family, and she's finally starting to come out of her shell. As she becomes more comfortable in her new home, her humans are getting acquainted with the many meeps and chirps that make up Ruby's unique personality.

Wendy put together a compilation of her many meeps, and honestly, until they were all put together in one TikTok video, I had no idea just how different each sound could be. Her happy and curious noises are as cute as can be. They're high-pitched sounds but softly muted, with an almost inquisitive quality that makes it seem like she's constantly asking a question.

Her angry meep, however, is by far my favorite. It sounds like an upset toddler who just dropped his last chicken nugget on the floor only to watch the dog snatch it up. Ruby's irritated voice is part fire truck horn and part tiny protest siren, as if she's demanding everyone clear the way immediately.
Fans React to Ruby's Sweet Voice
This little bird clearly struck a chord with Parrot lovers online. Several viewers compared Ruby to the red Angry Birds character, and now that the comparison has been made, it's impossible to unsee it.
One follower joked, "What a wonderful rainbow of moods. I will be using the meep scale with my therapist henceforth! LOL." Ruby's mom replied, "You absolutely should. On a scale of happy to angry meep, how are you feeling?"
Another viewer summed up Ruby's impressive vocal range, writing, "Love the range going from puppy whining to car honking its horn in a parking garage. She's very talented!!"
Ruby is a total vibe, and quite frankly, one of my new favorite viral TikTok pets. I can't wait to see what this expressive little Eclectus Parrot is up to next.
