Don't be fooled by a Bernese Mountain Dog's large size - these pups are as sweet as they come, whether they're playing with their favorite human or meeting a brand new stranger that they will quickly make their best friend.

The proof is all in this TikTok video, which shows a Berner named Boone being a more polite customer at an ice cream shop than most humans. This pup has manners!

Pup cups are very well favored among dogs, but I have to imagine that ice cream cones would be their holy grail. I just know that Boone is so excited for this snack as he waits for his vanilla cone at the ice cream window, but you'd never know it - he's sitting so still and so patiently.

And then, the gentleness with which he took the ice cream cone out of his mom's hand? This good boy deserves as much ice cream as he could possibly want.

Sure, he ate the whole thing in one bite, but he was polite about it!

Bernese Mountain Dogs Are Known for Their Gentle, Patient Temperament

Anyone who thinks a gentle giant would be the best addition to their family needs to look no further. It's not just Boone who has such great manners; as a breed, Bernese Mountain Dogs are known for being patient, calm dogs.

As The Spruce Pets points out, Bernese Mountain Dogs are best known for being sweet, loyal dogs who are great with children, despite their large size. They love to make their humans happy, so it's likely you'll often catch them showing off their best manners and working their hardest to master a new trick.

They're also playful and full of energy, so you can count on them to join you for a long walk or help wear your kids out at the park. They're like really adorable babysitters, really.

Being that they love humans so much, it's important to remember that these dogs will get lonely if they spend too much time by themselves, so make sure you have plenty of quality time to dedicate if you plan to add one to your family.

And who knows? Maybe a Berner could be your next ice cream buddy.
