Senior Pit Bull No One Wanted at the Shelter Gets Pulled by Another Rescue After One Video Goes Viral
A beloved 'grandpa dog' in Pennsylvania may have been the most overlooked dog at the shelter, but he's finally getting his turn in the spotlight. Could it even be his turn to get adopted?
ACCT Philly volunteer @rachelishaa first shared a video of Grandpa Turtle on July 2, and he immediately gained new fans from around the country. Rachel and her fans were over the moon to hear that the senior Pit Bull was rescued by @giana_sabatino and Providence Animal Center just two days later, and his second 'leash' on life could finally begin.
@giana_sabatino @Rachel We are so excited to welcome this sweet boy into our shelter!! Don't know how he had zero application because he is a total lovebug who loves to be with people! This sweet boy will be available pretty soon!! #providenceanimalcenter#shelterdogs#animalshelterworker adoptdontshop #acctphilly

He looks like the sweetest, happiest dog! Turtle was thrilled to have a friend there to visit him at the animal shelter, so I can only imagine how happy he was to leave. He may not have found his forever home quite yet, but at least he's out of the shelter and one step closer!
"Providence, just wait til you see people who love this breed," @bannedbutneveraway commented. "My husband told me no already."

Pit Bulls may be misunderstood dogs with a reputation they don't deserve, but there are plenty of people in the world who love this breed exactly as it is. That's because Pitties can be gentle, playful, and affectionate companions! True, some have a stubborn streak, and others can get carried away with throwing around their big, blocky bodies, but their quirks only make them more special.
Adopting Grandpa Turtle
Grandpa Turtle may not be available for adoption quite yet, but his profile is live on Providence's website and ready for potential adopters to read. As his rescuers explain, this senior dog is an easygoing love bug who's happy to tag along on a walk or lounge side by side on the couch.

To get started on an adoption application for this sweet guy, check out the rescue's 'How to Adopt' page for the full set of instructions. The first step is almost always an adoption application, but you can also email or message them on social media to find out when this boy is ready to come home.
