Justin Baldoni Suddenly Speaks Out After Nearly Two Years of Silence
Since the release of It Ends with Us became embroiled in controversy, it has often seemed like virtually everyone in the media has been discussing the situation. However, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have both long maintained a public silence on the matter, allowing lawyers to communicate for them. Now, Justin has suddenly spoken out in an Instagram video in which he and his wife, Emily Baldoni, addressed the matter for the first time publicly.
What Justin Baldoni Said About the Last Two Years
On July 8, 2026, Justin Baldoni uploaded a video of him and his wife breaking their silence while addressing the camera on Instagram. In the opening seconds of the nearly five-minute video, Baldoni noted how long he has remained silent and why.
"We have not spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years, and it's not because we haven't had anything to say, because Lord knows we have, but it just felt like every time we went to make a video like this, we wanted to speak, something was telling us not to. It just didn't feel like the right time. And we were talking about it and feeling into it and praying about it and..." When he paused for a moment, his wife briefly stepped in to finish his thought. "And this feels like the moment." Justin quickly agreed that is why they have chosen this moment to address the public. "So here we are."
From there, the couple noted that they have struggled with what to say about the situation and acknowledged they will have more to say in the future. Emily Baldoni then expressed the gratitude they were feeling. As she was speaking the following words, Justin briefly remarked on how important those feelings have been for them: "Gratitude has saved us."
"What does feel important is that we can genuinely say that we are sitting here today feeling immense gratitude for so many things and so many people and so many things that have happened to us."
After expressing those positive emotions, Emily spoke about the couple struggling as well: "I also feel that it's important, as we say that, in that gratitude, it doesn't negate the injustice and the pain that we have also felt in the last few years. And we've had to wrestle with so many things and try to understand so many things, like how could something like this even happen? Let alone disguise as a fight for women. So much to unpack. And the truth is, reality is, is that there's been a lot of trauma for us to move through as a family. Which also makes it hard to speak."
Without going into details, Justin then addressed the "many painful things that have been spoken into existence." Once his wife elaborated on that by saying the word "untruthful," Justin stated they "didn't want to add to the noise."
Ultimately, the couple spoke about the last two years teaching them that their kids, family, friends, community, and faith are what matter most. They then thanked people for their support.
"There were so many of you who, when we didn't have a voice, were our voice. You had a prayer at the very beginning, which was that you just prayed that people would have discernment. And so many of you had discernment. And you used your intuition and you trusted that. And you have given your time to fight for us. And thank you does not feel like enough. But we're here, in large part, because of so many of you and all of our friends and family. And one thing that we've learned is that when God presses the reset button and everything else is stripped away, that's when love shows up."
