Readers have chosen Olympia’s favorite breakfast restaurant. Here are the results

After starting with a field of 16 restaurants and going through four rounds of voting, the Olympian has an answer to the question it has been asking for the past month: What is Olympia’s favorite place to grab breakfast?

With a comfortable championship round victory of 1,165 to 422 votes, it’s finally time to announce the winner of the Breakfast Bowl:

Olympia’s favorite breakfast spot

Shipwreck Cafe

244 Madrona Beach Road, Olympia

What to know: Shipwreck Cafe is a popular spot for fresh local oysters, burgers, and fish and chips, but Olympia residents clearly love the restaurant for its all-day breakfast, too.

Shipwreck Cafe opens at 7 a.m. seven days a week and doesn’t close until either 7:30 p.m. during the week or 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, meaning you can satisfy that breakfast craving from dawn until dusk. The diner also has a drive-thru option for those in a rush.

The runner-up

South Bay Pub

3323 S. Bay Road NE, Olympia

What to know: South Bay Pub serves breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. but does not open until noon throughout the work week.

Eggs Benedicts and omelets are some go-to favorites at the diner, but it also offers other classics such as breakfast burritos, and biscuits and gravy.

“Absolutely LOVE this spot! Hands down my favorite breakfast spot in Olympia,” a Yelp user called Kevin C. wrote. “If you come, you have to try the Fried Chicken Benedict and a FRESH squeezed screwdriver! You won’t be disappointed!

Olympia’s other favorite breakfast joints

Although only one restaurant could win, the bracket started with 16 local breakfast eateries.
