Washington state Department of Health receives award for hiring veterans
The state Department of Health has received a Hire-A-Vet award from the state Employment Security Department for hiring veterans.
In 2018, DOH hired 21 veterans, including three via the Joint Base Lewis-McChord Camo2Commerce program.
DOH also created a tool that helps veterans obtain credentials for 35 health professions, according to a news release. More than 400 health credentials have been issued to active, reserve and National Guard personnel since 2013.
