THURSTON COUNTY: Olympian reporters win 8 WPA awards
The Olympian was recognized Saturday by the Washington Press Association, winning eight awards at the organization's annual statewide communications contest.
Business reporter Rolf Boone won five awards and was a co-winner of the association’s sweepstakes award. He shared the award with Peninsula Daily News reporter Paul Gottlieb. Sports reporter Meg Wochnick won two third-place awards for general feature and humor column.
Boone and C.R. Roberts, a business reporter for The News Tribune of Tacoma, won a second-place award for a story about the closing of Venture Bank.
