Lincoln Introduces Must-Get Aviator Lease Deals this April

The 2026 Lincoln Aviator in a Nutshell

The Lincoln Aviator was first introduced in 2003 as a plusher version of the Ford Explorer from the same era. It featured mini-Navigator looks inside and out, and it didn't sell in massive numbers. It was axed in 2005 and kept that name dormant for nearly 15 years.

Lincoln then dusted off the name in 2019, but the formula was exactly the same as the original model. It's still based on the Ford Explorer, gets a nicer interior, and some design cues from the Navigator. The current model received a major facelift for 2025, so the 2026 model is largely a carryover.

Final Thoughts

Obviously, it won't be chasing the likes of BMW and Mercedes-Benz in terms of driving dynamics, but the Aviator offers a modern, contemporary take on American luxury. It puts comfort above everything else, and its goal is to pamper you as the miles pile on. Before looking at the European competition, the Aviator might be worth checking out. It might just be the kind of luxury crossover that hits the right notes for you.
