People news: Radio station honors Ken Balsley for years of service

Ken Balsley, local blogger, historian and a member of Lacey’s parks board, was recently recognized by KGY radio for his years of service at the station.

Balsley was presented with a Community Connection Award at a Lacey South Sound Chamber of Commerce forum.

“We felt it was time to honor his contribution to the station and the South Sound community,” said Jackson Dell Weaver, KGY general manager, in a statement.

Balsley was the former host of “Coffee with Ken” at KGY. The program is now a podcast on his website at KenBalsley.com.
