People news: Physicians of Southwest Washington name Matthews CEO
Physicians of Southwest Washington, an independent physician association, have named Melanie Matthews its new chief executive.
Matthews, 41, is set to begin Feb. 1, while former Chief Executive Mariella Cummings, will retire March 1 after 16 years on the job.
Matthews previously was vice president of operations for Prestige Care Inc.
She has a master of science, social gerontology degree from Central Missouri State University and a bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies from Pennsylvania State University, according to a news release.
