Report: Washington state tech sector employs more than 200,000
The Washington state technology sector employed about 214,000 workers in 2015, according to a new report released by the nonprofit tech association CompTIA.
Other Washington state data from the report:
▪ Tech workers earned an annual average salary of $129,000.
▪ The tech industry represents 13 percent of the state economy.
▪ The industry added nearly 5,000 jobs between 2014 and 2015.
▪ Tech payroll totaled $27.7 billion last year, or 8.2 percent of all private sector payroll in the state.
