Olympia Master Builders, Thurston County Realtors set to host Housing Summit
Olympia Master Builders and Thurston County Realtors will host a housing summit 8 a.m. to noon March 23 at the Lacey Community Center.
Two panel discussions will be heard during the summit.
Local architect Ron Thomas will moderate a discussion on trends, sustainability and the realities of the local housing market, while David Schaffert, president and chief executive of the Thurston County Chamber of Commerce, will moderate a discussion about the effects of regulation on the local housing market.
The summit will end with keynote speaker Michael Luis, an expert in housing and economic development and a former mayor and city council member of Medina, Washington. Luis is also the Executive Director of the Center for Wooden Boats in Seattle and the author of Century 21 City: Seattle’s Fifty Year Journey from World’s Fair to World Stage.
